Bucs, Panthers on pace for top-10 picks

 December, 5, 2011

 Source:   ESPN
By Pat Yasinskas

It looks like the NFC South could have two teams drafting in the top 10 next April.

At the moment, the Panthers would hold the sixth overall pick and the Buccaneers would be No. 10.

According to ESPN Stats & Information, here’s how the top 10 would shape up at the moment with tiebreakers factored in:

 1.    Colts
2.     Rams
3.     Vikings
4.     Jaguars
5.     Redskins
6     .Panthers
7.     Browns
8.     Eagles
9.     Dolphins
10.   Buccaneers

I would guess the BUCS will have a top 5 pick next year when all is said and done.

The way the bucs are playing - only the Colts and Rams are safe.  Damn unfortunate - but true

Panthers will win more than the Bucs so we will be lower. Jaguars will beat TB this week so they will edge out tampa. Dolphins Im sure will win more games when its all said and done. Im thinking we end up picking top 5-8 which should be bad enough to get a good player.

If we get higher we should take the to cornerback on the board. Talib has been sucking nd when he finally starts to lay decent he gets injured...again. He is a trouble maker, widly inconsistent, and he has been injury prone. Time to move on. We could possibly get up high enough to trade back and still get the best LB and recoup that pick we lost trading for stocker.

At least the Detroit Lions are not doing just as bad as the Bucs. Hope we pick our Megatron-Suh linebacker in 2012.

Just lose, baby!

FRG is the most logical poster on this board.  You guys just don\'t like where the logical conclusions take you.

im sure the all pros will be easy to spot a couple years from now...but who are they right now?  qb's aside, claiborne?  kirkpatrick?  kalil? blackmon? doesnt seem like too many surefires.  do most of them seem undersized to compete at a high level right away?

Bucs will be in the 5-8 range when all is said and done I see Dolphins, Panthers and Vikings all with a chance to win 1-2 more games this season and the Bucs may win one more game if they are lucky. JAX has a interim HC, a horrible rookie QB, and the Bucs COULD, maybe, possibly, have a 50/50 shot of winning this week. But will probably blow it in the last few minutes as MJD runs for a NFL record 568 yards against the Bucs horrid run defense.

I'm guessing the same.

those OTs show up at the combine usually 10-20 pounds heavier than their listed college weight.

Is #10 too late for Blackmon?

hard to tell.  3-4 QBs could go top 10 and maybe 3 OTs.  Then there is Claiborne.  Richardson.  the DE from UNC.

Yes I think Luck, Barkley, and Griifin III, all go top 5 or so.  So hopefully the Bucs can improve on that 10 slot a little in the next few weeks.
