if the Bucs don't have the LBs to play the 4-3, where are they going to find the LBs to play the 3-4?
The thought is two of the starting three LB's need to be replaced anyway, whether the teams stays with a 43 or switches to a 34. And the other pass-rushing OLB would be one of the current DE's, like Bowers.
Neither of our DE's could play rush LB in a 3-4. Neither Bowers nor Clayborn are speed rusher's as it is, and even the limited amount of coverage responsibilities at rush LB would be challenging for them. The only 3-4 scheme we could run would be Wade Phillips' scheme, because it basically has the same principles as a 4-3. Not sure how many coaches outside of Wade coach it though.
