Worst idea (again) ever...  I've shown you Marty's less-than-stellar career numbers.

Great X's & O's guy, but suffered from "Dungyitis"............   (Can't get a team "over the hump"...)

Has NEVER gotten ANY of his teams a Superbowl ring.

With ALL of the coaching vacancies, over the past couple of seasons...  IF any team thought Marty was worth his weight in salt - wouldn't he have been snatched up in a heart beat?

ALL 32 teams passed on him, for years now, for a reason.  He's a dinosaur Chron............

Um, coaches who WIN Super Bowls don't do it with their 2nd team.
I don't believe either one of us knows if Schott was ever really wanting to coach in the past few years.

And, hell, he WON with his Coaching gig in 2011. Give him a schott!! He's MONEY.

The thing with any of the "recycled" that have been mentioned from Fisher, Schott, Turner, Sherman and whatnot is that they all have "issues". The thing is they are all pros, they know to to run a team and at least get it working and playing like a professional team. From what we know right now we're not even at that point so any of them makes sense just from that stand point alone. I think we're a lot further down that some people know right now. I suspect we're missing a lot of basics from a professional team not just X and O type issues.

News flash, Colts, Dungy win Superbowl. Someone who wasn't a total idiot gave him a chance.

The victory secured the Colts their inaugural Super Bowl title since moving from Baltimore to Indianapolis in 1984. The Baltimore Colts won the Super Bowl in 1971.

This game also featured two African-American head coaches, a Super Bowl milestone. It was the Colts' Tony Dungy who emerged victorious over Lovie Smith, his Chicago counterpart and close friend.

"I'm proud to be the first African-American coach to win this," Dungy said during the trophy ceremony. "But again, more than anything, Lovie Smith and I are not only African-American but also Christian coaches, showing you can do it the Lord's way. We're more proud of that."

Dungy also joined Mike Ditka and Tom Flores as the only men to win Super Bowl titles as both players and coaches. Dungy was a backup safety for the championship Pittsburgh Steelers 28 years ago.
