Do you think Upton all of a sudden learns how to hit home runs the last month of the season? It is all about incentive and Longoria now has zero.
bad comparison (and Upron learned to hit hr's at the end of every other year not just contract years), longo hasn't needed contract years to be motivated to this point

Yes, I know it isn't a good comparison. I think Longoria is a great player and happy he is on the Rays. I hope he is one of those special guys that doesn't get complacent like Cal Ripken.  Mr. I'm not diving for that, staying in a different hotel, play through the pain no matter how much it hurts the team because of my streak and my average of .250 is good enough Ripken.  Him and Murray were the biggest fakes that ever played the game.  I witnessed it first hand.

Lmao! I lived it and still a little bitter. Don't mind me.  I still have a problem with the Colts for leaving when I was 8. No one taught me how to forgive.

Ripken was a 19 time all star and a career .270 hitter.  May have held on the last few years in part to get the record, but he had many many great years.

Nothing special, but veteran utility man signed:

This doesn't surprise me.

I always thought Gwynn was the much superior player when the 2 were ever compared.

I'm very pleased to see BJ not with us anymore. I like the Braves though, so I feel for them.

However I think a switch to the NL may really benefit him and help him become more of the player he should've been.

Are you a Braves' fan?

No, but I am guilty of living in the past when it comes to Bossman and the 08 ALCS.

nothing wrong with that.  BJ has been an integral part of this team's success, but I think we'll be fine overall just like we were when Crawford moved on
