The more I read about this trade the better I like it. Wil Myers with Evan for the foreseeable is huge.

Really going to miss Jamie, but at the same time I definitely believe we have the pieces in house to replace both him and Wade Davis. We didn't have a piece like Myers though.

Kudos to Friedman for getting this done.  He sets his asking price steep - and that's cost him in the past - but he got the deal done and deserves credit.  Whether Myers pans out or not, this is a move that had to be made.  Can't wait for the season to start.

There's a reason I don't like trading proven players for prospects. Its a gamble. I hope Myers is who they say he is but how l9ng before we see him? Shields was a top pitcher over the past 2 seasons and Davis was a consistent arm out of the pen.

His bat is MLB ready. Myers isn't going to be a quality defensive OF though as he is still new at the position right now. Myers will be playing soon everyday on the ML's if not opening day.
