Again, at least he has proven to put competitive teams on the field. He only had 3 really bad seasons in his tenure. His teams were VERY competitive with a sound defense, right now taking a guy with a track record like that over an unproven guy is the way to go.

The goal in football, imho, is to be a great superbowl winning team...not consistently mediocre aka "competitive".  Hiring Fischer would lead to consistent mediocrity, and while an improvement over Morris, settling for mediocrity is gutless imho.

Both of those guys are light years ahead of any of the other names being tossed around.  Looking at the current crop of "probable" coaches feels like evaluating a really weak weak draft class...we need to think outside the box to get a great coach.  And make no mistake, we need a great coach, not one thats just better than Morris.

Absolutely.  Id prefer to gamble than knowingly choose to wallow in mediocrity.  They rolled the dice on Morris and he was a collosal failure, we cut at the bud and roll the dice again and hope you hit it big.  Hiring fisher just feels like settling to get married to a chic with half her teeth missing just because its better than the toothless one we had before...I'm sorry but I just find it unacceptable.

Listen, this franchise is far from a "great Super Bowl winning team". Get over it. Right now, we just need to be pointed in the right direction. Everything else is just gravy. Fisher will get these kids in the right step. And once these young promising players turn into vets and enter the prime and he still can't get the job done, that's when we call it quits. Right now, I want him to at least get the sink above water.

I do find it hilarious that people keep mentioning he only had 6 winning seasons out of his 17 like its a bad thing.  Did you guys know that he only had 6 losing seasons out of 17.  Kind of shows him in a different light, no?

For a team that has averaged 5-6 wins the past 3 years, I'd gladly take that 9 win average Fisher boast for a chance at the playoffs.
