I do find it hilarious that people keep mentioning he only had 6 winning seasons out of his 17 like its a bad thing.  Did you guys know that he only had 6 losing seasons out of 17.  Kind of shows him in a different light, no?

For a team that has averaged 5-6 wins the past 3 years, I'd gladly take that 9 win average Fisher boast for a chance at the playoffs.

I hate that kind of talk, and it happens all the time.  Ppl gladly accept resigning themselves to mediocrity just because its slightly better than what they had to de with before.

When you draft as poorly as the Bucs do, have one of the lowest payrolls for the past 5 years, and don't have Brady, Rodgers, or Brees; I think we were awful selfish to hope for more than mediocrity out of our Bucs.  We didn't like it with Dungy, so we go and get Gruden, who spoiled us one year with the Bowl, then got us back to mediocrity.  So the Owners figured, he'll let's make them so bad, that they long for 9 win seasons again.

parcells hasnt won a playoff game in over 20 years.  and that includes 12 seasons.  and he sure didnt do much in miami.

Well and again, as young as we are if we get the "mediocre" coach like Sherman/Fisher/whoever else is unacceptable to the daydreamers there is still time to hire THAT guy to put us over the top. Like you said, we have to get right with ball before we can worry about super bowls. I'd like to know that our next coach can field an NFL level team in terms of prep and strategy.

Ah, the old it's not the coach it's the players excuse. Funny that it didn't work for the Jets or Minnesota. It didn't work for McCarthy in 2006 either.

Since people want to say that team success isn't based on the coaching then why should failure be? Look at the lack of talent we had. If coaching doesn't matter, why fire Morris or can coaches only make a team worse not better? I don't get the double standard.

Well, Brian Billick only had 3 losing seasons out of nine in Baltimore and one of them was 7-9. He also has a Super Bowl for good measure. He won that with Trent Dilfer.
