I just don't see why the Glazers would want to make another terrible selection at HC.

Yes, I'm quite sure that they will select the head coach they feel is most terrible. Certainly they will not believe that whomever they hire is a good choice.

Mike Sherman is quickly becoming the Tim Tebow of the HC candidates....if any opinion pops up that doesn align with the "Sherman should be the hire" thought...then certain people start foaming at the mouth.

Until preseason, you stay classy Red Board.

That said, I think I'd prefer Marty Schottenheimer over Mike Sherman.

TAMPA --

The player credited with inventing Green Bay's Lambeau Leap touchdown celebration believes the Tampa Bay Buccaneers should take a leap of faith and hire former Packers coach Mike Sherman as new head coach.

LeRoy Butler, a four-time Pro Bowler and a Packers Hall of Famer, "highly'' endorsed Sherman for the job during an interview Tuesday morning with radio host Dan Sileo on WDAE (620 AM).

"He's a developer of talent,'' Butler said of Sherman. "He developed Brett Favre and the quarterbacks behind him, and I think that's what it's all about. You look at (the Bucs), and you have to bring in someone who can develop (quarterback Josh) Freeman because he's at the crossroads.

"You have to start there first because this is a quarterback-driven league and (Sherman) knows the West Coast offense. And he's won. He's won games and he knows the NFL."

Butler's last two years with the Packers (2000 and 2001) were under Sherman, who compiled a 57-39 record while coaching Green Bay from 2000 to 2005 and was described as a "player's coach'' by the former safety.

"He's in that West Coast-like family so your quarterback is going to put up some sick numbers and your team is going to be opportunistic on defense,'' Butler said. "He can turn a young team around.

"We had a young team with some veterans sprinkled in, but I go back to the quarterback. He was there with Brett Favre for four years, and Brett Favre put up some of his best numbers" during those years.''

Brett put up some of his best numbers during those years because he was in his prime during those years.

Sapp, beat your g/f lately? Your opinion means nothing - you're just a talking head nowadays.

Oh go shove your tongue back down Dominic's throat.

Oh Sapp, I hold you in such high regard. You had me the first time I noticed your excessive ass sweat. It was at Soldier Field, 12 degrees. You still completely sweated out the back of your pants. Amazing.

Can't understand the lack of will to at least give the guy an interview....allow the guy to prove or disprove the negative consensus assumptions.

Sherm sucks.  Plus his nickname would be the Sherm.

Just hire Schotty.  the guy is a bonafide coach with an amazing win/loss ratio. I have grown to think this is my choice for a frontrunner.

Remember this old video making fun of Sapp for saying being a multi-millionaire player playing in the NFL is slavery?

You bumped this old thread to post that nonsense?   Stick to Bucs trivia.

\\\\\\\"Java, do you understand this a perfect example of why people beg me to suspend or ban you on a daily basis? Are you actually trying to make a point? Seriously what is the reason for even commenting. In fact why do you even bother coming to the boards? What happened to the intelligent poster from years ago?  A real shame. Like the Bucs yesterday, a wasted effort.\\\\\\\"
