You don't pass on a guy like Adrian Peterson just because some scrub undrafted free agents have big stats behind solid offensive lines.   And you don't pass on Richardson either.

I've seen Trent run in person, I've seen youtube videos of his workouts and the kid is an absolute STUD. He has to be the pick, although I'm torn on him and Claiborne. The dude can bench more than DWIGHT HOWARD.

He can pass block, he is a 3 down back, and he has a UNIQUE combination of speed AND power that is extremely hard to pass up.

LOL, Richardson and speed? Not this year buddy. He's about one off-season away from being Blount. We have a back who just had a 1,000 yard year and in two years has never had less than 4.3 YPC. Richardson is not even close to Peterson.

Can you get lucky and find quality backs in later rounds, yes you can. The same can be said for other positions as well.

But if there is a potential star running back available - you dont justify not selecting him because other teams have gotten lucky finding backs in later rounds. That is idiocy.

It's a different league now. In 1990, one QB threw for more than 4,000 yards. The #10 QB threw for 3,031 yards. In 2011, ten QB's threw for 4,000 yards. Let's not try and win the 1990 Super Bowl in 2012.
