More from Rotoworld.com

The Bucs will give former Texas A&M coach Mike Sherman a second interview for their head-coaching vacancy.

Sherman was the leader in the clubhouse before Oregon's Chip Kelly arrived on the scene. The Bucs will revisit Sherman now. Sherman has been fired from his last two head-coaching stops, first with the Packers in 2006 and most recently by the Aggies in December. He'd be an uninspired hire, in our estimation.

Sherman among finalists for Bucs head coaching job

Former Green Bay Packers and Texas A&M head coach Mike Sherman is among the finalists for the Bucs' head coaching position, the Tampa Bay Times confirmed.

After Oregon coach Chip Kelly ducked out of an offer to become the Bucs head coach early Monday, the team moved quickly to schedule second interviews, most likely to be held in Tampa this week.

Bucs general manager Mark Dominik was in the process Monday of informing candidates the team had interviewed whether they were finalists or no longer under consideration. Sherman is the first to be confirmed for a second interview but there are likely to be more.

Sherman, 57, is known as a disciplinarian and has a solid offensive background. In six seasons with the Packers, with Brett Favre in his prime at quarterback, Sherman went 57-39 and won three NFL North titles. He was fired in 2005 after compiling a 4-12 record, the Packers first losing season since 1991.

Sherman was 25-25 in four seasons at Texas A&M, including two bowl appearances. He is an offensive play-caller who spent two seasons with the Houston Texans before joining the Aggies. He served as offensive coordinator his last season with the Texans.

Disgraceful!!! If your looking at sign Chip Kelly...take a look at Mike McCoy or Marc Trestman.

If we hire Mike Sherman....my level of interest for this team goes to rock bottom. That is just an absolute slap to the face of die-hard fans.

It's not so much that Kelly backed away...probably best for both parties. It's the fact that this guy comes back into play.

Nobody on our team is going to fear Mike Sherman and nobody is going to buy into what Mike Sherman will preach. I can guarantee you that. He is a boob and just an all around terrible selection for coach.

You know, if Dominik truly does read this message board, why does he not relay information to the Glazers that WE DONT **CENSORED**ING WANT SHERMAN!

Good. There are 31 other teams that would be much more appreciative of a stellar fan of your unmatched caliber.

I don't like Sherman as much as the next guy, but with that being said I am willing to give him a chance as long as we get a coach in place and good coordinators under him.
