Bucs denied Joe Barry when Marinelli was first hired by the Lions. He had to wait until his contract with the Bucs to run out to join his father in law. They did the same thing with Mike Tomlin as well. It pissed off plenty of coaches around the league.

Bruce Allen...the gift that keeps on giving.

Wasn't Bisaccia also denied an interview once?

I'm confident that Coach Schiano isn't the type just to settle.
If he can't get his guy McNulty, he will bring in someone who can do the job.

Turn the page.

As I said in another thread about this, it's a crappy move by Whisenhunt. Not a real encouraging sign for any new hires they may be considering.

Who's next on the list, anyone know?

I would agree, if the Bucs retained the individuals responsible for it. But, this is a different Bucs team from the FO on down.

I don't understand this move by teams. It tells me this guy is a good coach, teams don't deny WR coaches the ability to advance their positions often. If you're a player on his team, does it affect the chemistry? Seems like you would promote advancement with players and coaches and it clearly sends the wrong message to both, our chemistry was rapidly declining when we were pulling stunts like this with Gruden/Allen

This happens all the time. It became more and more prevalent over the last decade and Bruce was a big time user of this rule. Yes it stinks but in the end coaches can't say too much because there aren't many jobs at this level of any kind. When/if Schiano has assistants most of you griping now will be praising Dom for not letting our guys go.

Allen and Gruden didn't allow lateral moves from our coaches, much like every team does. Unless i'm just forgetting some guy wanting to interview for a better job and they denied it?

You're forgetting. Joe Barry was denied joining his pops.

I thought Lovie said he wanted quickness & speed, even at the QB position?

Marinlelli was denied numerous DC offers. Sadly for him that left one escape route....Detroit and the end of his HC dreams forever.
