Bad news for Faine?

I REALLY hope so.
Agreed.

I could definitely see this headline "Zuttah signs 4-year deal, Faine released".

I'd rather we signed or drafted a guard first just to not give away our hand to other teams/agents, then release Faine. But ultimately I definitely agree. I also hope we don't overpay him like we overpaid pretty much every guy we resigned last season. Just because we have loads of extra cap space doesn't mean we have to just throw cash around. Zuttah in particular would probably take less just to place with Schiano again.

Faine has been great for this team but he's entering his 10th season and it's really starting to show. Lock up Zuttah and pick up a starting C or LG and Jeremy plays the opposite position.

He did play center at Rutgers I believe. Either way his re-signing is a good thing. Hopefully he is at center and Faine does get released though.

Larsen was a good center in college.  What we need is a good LG and I think Mr. Faine's salary would go a long way to providing that in IMHO.

Then we can make some plays for a LG In free agency. Never count out Nicks and the likelier of the two Grubbs.

I say about $6M a year. 5 year / $30M or something.

He's not signing 3 weeks before free agency for that.

Top centers and guards are pushing $9M a year now. I think it's safe to say he will get $5M to $6M to be a starter.

*finds nearest trash bag*

Why do we settle for mediocre players. Geez! He is a back-up at best on most teams.

Agree JDub. And honestly for the versatility he offers that's a good deal imo.
