I remember either hearing, or reading, a story awhile back and the player mentioned that teams know when certain players are injury prone (this specific instance was for concussions) and they'll try to take the person out of the game or injure them to slow their production. Same goes for arm/leg/etc. injuries.

I think every time is guilty of head hunting in the games, but Saints just happen to be the team all the blame falls on.
