I have the feeling that regardless of who is or is not signed, there will be gnashing of teeth and wailing at the wall. What will be, will be. Whatever happens, let us concentrate on the first week of Schiano's OTA and then soon training camp. It all has to be better than the past three years.

My FA prediction:

G - Nicks
T - Gaither or McNeil or Winston
WR - Meachem or Colston or Garcon
RB - Tolbert
TE - Bennett
LB - Lofton
DB - Carr
DT - Okoye

I'd have to change my pants several times if this list came true.

I'd cut Trueblood in a heartbeat if we could sign Winston to a new deal.

@HolderStephen Keep eye on Mike Tolbert/Bucs. Hearing some things on that front and could be good fit. Good in short-yardage/pass pro, where Blount isn't

If the Bucs sign Nicks and Finnegan I don't expect to see Vincent Jackson in a Bucs uniform next season. I'd be alright with that though. Nicks + Finnegan + a few mid-grade players = Successful FA year, IMO.

Yeah, two out of three between (Nicks, Finnegan, Jackson) would be great. Signing all three would be like hitting the jackpot.

Quote
Saints owner Tom Benson and coach Sean Payton went to New York to meet with Commissioner Roger Goodell.  They presumably left G.M. Mickey Loomis in New Orleans because he has bigger fish to fry.

And one guy that hes trying to get into the pan is receiver Marques Colston.

A league source tells PFT the two sides are working feverishly toward finalizing a new contract before Colston becomes a free agent at 4:00 p.m. ET on Tuesday.  Colston, were told, badly wants to remain a Saint.

In six NFL seasons, Colston has 449 receptions for 6,240 yards and 48 touchdowns.  He entered the league as a seventh-round pick in 2006.

Colston likely off the market.
