With the addition of Jackson, someone has to go. I'm thinking Spurlock and/or Stroughter. Also, I believe Benn will benefit most because of the double coverage Jackson will draw. Blount should easily have his best year with the addition of Nicks and the subtraction of Faine.                       Playoffs anyone?

Spurlock and/or Stroughter were afterthoughts to begin with.

Spurlock is on target to leave...   especially if the rumor of us being interested in Ginn has any real foundation.

Jackson, WIlliams, Benn, Parker, Briscoe and xxxxxx

Suddenly Manningham sounds like a good add.

Not as good as Blackmon.

But Maningham wouldn't cost a 1st round pic. I'd be open to bringing him in for a cheap contract.

Jackson, Williams, and Benn make a solid WR corps, but no more FA signings because it's best that Blackmon remains a possibility in the draft in case Claiborne/Kalil aren't there and nobody wants to trade.

True. But Blackmon would just create nightmare matchups.

Any WRs on the roster after Benn had better have mad special teams skills. That's the thing about having big time studs on your team it allows you the flexibility with the rest of the roster to look for specialists or guys that have crazy athleticism but that are raw. You don't need to have 3 guys that you think might be able to do it when you have 1 that you know can do it.

Hopefully Mike does now.

And it should help Kellen.

And Blount/RB in the draft

With the defense being as bad as it was last year I hope we start adding more FAs on that side.. We got the two big names on the offensive side lets work on the defense.

I agree.  Freeman is at his best in 3/4 WR sets (granted, that's because teams in this instance are playing a soft zone because they're usually up 2 scores), but a 4-WR set of Jackson / Blackmon / Williams / Benn or Winslow has awesome written all over it.

Anyone else think that Benn could win the #2 job outright?

Also, the top three are all tall big bodied receivers, who's going in the slot when they're all on the field? Is it Benn by default?

They should try to get whatever they can for Benn. He's not going to start and Parker did some nice things in the slot. Then you have Briscoe as a wild-card. If they can get a 4th for Benn, take it and run. If not then he's going to be the bubble next summer.

lets look for a LB who can help stuff the run, and doesn't want 9 mill a season.
