I have a feeling this guy is going to sign with someone else. I don't get a good vibe from Mr. Lofton and his dumbass agent.

+1

Pass, and not just because I'm hoping we some how land Luke Kuechly.

I say pass as well. When a player is greedy. It says a lot about his character. If we can trade back in the draft and get more picks i say draft Luke Kuechly.ILB he is the most complete LB intelligent and athletic. I think Intelligence is grossly underestimated as a requirement for these athletes. One of the things that made the Bucs d great was the intelligence factor. With Simeon, Culpepper, Sapp, Brooks ,Lynch ,Quarles and Barber they all are extremely smart.

It's not a matter of paying him, as I'm sure our offer is a substantial one. Heck, if we tossed all that jack at Eric Wright, I'm sure we are not nickle and diming Lofton. The problem is that dude seems to think he is the second coming of Ray Lewis or something.

Don't overpay for Lofton. Sign Hawthorne, or draft Kuechly.

If we can sign a veteran like EJ Henderson..i wouldnt mind drafting a MLB. Veteran precsence does a lot. Hendo/Kuechly or Hightower/Foster would be pretty good

Even if Lofton is not a slam dunk - we can't roll into 2012 with the current LB corps and whatever we get in draft. That would be really foolish.

Gotta roll the dice to try to improve what is an abysmal unit.

I assume it's not just blind greed but rather that D'Qwell Jackson set what they thought the market would be with his deal. Regardless, though, if trying to maximize income is a reason to not sign a guy, we all got excited for nothing over a press conference yesterday.

There\'s a very real chance the Bucs waive [Revis] before next season. At the very least, it will be a discussion worth having.

Frankly I'd be perfectly happy with David Hawthorne in the middle if we can't get Lofton. While it's true that Lofton is the better player, I think Hawthorne is perhaps a bit more athletic and he also only 26-27 and would come cheaper.

I just wish we'd sign Tulloch, Mike Tolbert, and Amobi Okoye....and be done. All three of those guys together would cost us about $8M a year. WELL worth it.
