Thought the Saints might make a big run on Lofton to replace Vilma who is likely to be suspended- looks like Lofton maybe headed to the Bucs now.

Saints just signed Bunkley to a five-year, $25 million contract with $9 million guaranteed.  There is no way they can afford to add Lofton now, can they?

After how he played last year, a proper punishment would be forcing the Saints to start Vilma for 16 games.

Best-case scenario is now this: Lofton, Claiborne, Doug Martin or Miller, best safety available (I'd like Harrison Smith, but he's probably gone by this point). If no safety is worth it atop the third, and L.James is there, we can double up on running backs or pick the best available LB.
But Lofton and then Claiborne would change the balance of power in the division.

Bucs need a hog at the NT to protect the LBers. Poe would do that nicely IMO.

The more I think about it, the more I like the idea of drafting Luke Kuechly.

It may be best to trade down a bit; but, drafting Kuechly and picking some extra picks may be the best way to go.

With the Eagles trading for DeMeco Ryans, Kuechly might slip in the draft.

If Lofton doesn't get paid what he wants, his heart won't be in it.  That's a liability and the Bucs would be better off going in a diiferent direction at this point.
And that's why you add contract incentives...

Is it better to go Kuechly and then a RB OR..... Richardson and then a linebacker?
