He will never be truly "back".  He will be a contender for years but I highly doubt he will ever dominate again.

How many more majors do you think TW has in him?  He's won 3 tour events this year and getting back near #1 in world rankings again. The good news for him is that all four majors this year, he was contending going into the weekend.

and faded during the weekend ...... +15

If he can't keep his concentration throughout four rounds he will not win another major.  The issues he is having have nothing to do with his physical ability.  And no one can forecast his ability to focus for all 4 rounds - imvho.

Right now he is unable to control his wedge/short game distance, his driving off the tee, and his putting is very average.  However all are fine on the practice range.  It is all between his ears....

Three wins this season - makes a very successful season on all PGA tour's professional's books. Contended on the leaderboard for all four majors makes for a successful season in most PGA tour professional's books. Still better than 95% of the PGA professionals. Only a matter of time before he wins more majors. He's back in that respect. There are those who said he'd never make it back as a top player - and they're wrong.

He is not a dominate player again until he can put it together and win a major.   It may happen, but it hasn't yet.   You were premature in claiming he was baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack, period.

First post in this thread.

How am I surprised that the OP  "eyeswide"  has a mancrush on Tiger?  Look, a unique talent, who may or may not win another major.  Can anyone really root for this phony POS?

And during the majors he lost control of his driver, distance and line with his short games, and putted poorly ESPECIALLY on the weekends.

Doesn't mean much to you to be the best golfer in the United States? You probably have never touched a golf club in your life.

Tiger Woods won at Torrey Pines for the eighth time in his career and now trails Sam Snead's record of 82 wins by just seven.

He looked good right up to the last 9.  He needs to figure out what the issue is and resolve it.  Otherwise he will not be winning majors - and that I believe is his primary goal.  Not being able to put a tee ball in the fairway has to be disconcerting, and I don't think anyone with an iota of common sense accepted he was annoyed with the pace of play.  Hell, he wasn't missing fairways - he was missing the fairway and the rough and the trees.... when he wasn't hitting pop ups like an amateur in his first club competition.
