@ProFootballTalk
Saint agree to five year deal with LB David Hawthorne per league source.

Am I missing something here??

I saw that too...that's some Bull... How the heck do they have the cap to sign these players...

They get a great OG to replace their great OG that left..resign their best WR. Then sign a good Run stuffer DT. Then trun around and sign the 2nd and 3rd beat LB in FA.

This is not fair..why does their GM got to wait to.the start of the season, he should be already suspended..so the Saints can't sign no one..they dont.care  about their picks, they don't draft good aways,, most their hits are in FA, and late rounds or undrafted players...

The Saint even with out their coach, is gonna be great, and their D is gonna be alot better, then last year.

They will have to cut players and or restructure the deals so they are not paying guys much this year.  Man this really has to be pissing off Brees.

You'd think the best QB in the history of their franchise that broke record after record and ultimately winning them a Superbowl would be a priority.

They circumvent the suspensions by signing these guys and deciding they'll cut them anyway. Goodell is being played.

..and Hawthorne was still sitting on the open market twiddling his thumbs with no one at all interested except the Saints because he is so awesome ??

What is your point? I was wrong? Ok. You win. I was wrong.

He said he was focussing on the draft. I'm sure after the draft they will fill whatever else they need with free agents. Players should get cut after the draft and that should help us out in getting some cheaper options for needs.

Wow. Wish the Bucs tried strengthening their weakest unit.

Just because he didnt sign with us doesnt mean we didnt try. Why does everybody think every FA should sign here just because we make an offer. Its called FREE agency

If it were up to me. Yes. Sign him. That defense needs another vet next to Barber.

Having Fletcher would be great for a year or two. Hes still in great shape. Maybe he can show Foster some things about MLB. But again..thats more of a bandaid than stitches im afraid.

Sweet. Good for them.

I can't wait to see them tied up and squirming in future years. I love how our division rivals enjoy backloading contracts!
