I swear I'm having Deja Vu! I've heard this exact scenario a month or so ago. If only I could remember where!?! Hmmmmmmm, anyone?

Interesting idea, but doubt either Kuechly or Barron is there at #18. Hightower is big and physical, but a MLB needs to have it between the ears too, which Kuechley does in spades. Hightower is more limited in coverage, so our safeties better be real good in coverage, if that's the direction we go.

Jenkins will likely be there at 36 but I doubt he's a TBA guy....

We know Dom isn't scared to make trades and it's been quiet on that front this off-season so who knows? Forte does have the all-around skillset they are after so I wouldn't say it's impossible...

We could go Hightower at 18, or Gilmore, or Jenkins. Then go David at 36 and use both 3's to move up to get Smith or Taylor
This is the direction I'd love to see. Hightower 18, take a third and trade up for Fleener. Take the Coastal Carolina CB atop the third.
You can also go Hightower, pass rusher, Harrison Smith (S) and then the Coastal Carolina CB.
That would give you a major upgrade at RB, three potential starters on defense (LB, S, CB) and better depth at DE.
With the other option, you get an elite RB, potential elite TE, starting LB and CB and then can address S either in the fifth or via free agency.
Any draft that yields Forte, Hightower and more would be pretty exciting.

There's not too many trades that would make us an automatic contender...this would be one of them. Forte, Hightower, David, Josh Norman and whoever else in the 3rd round would go a long way towards making this team a contender very quickly.

I'd do that in a heartbeat. Football trades are rare but with the new rookie salary cap this would be an opportune time for the bears to move Forte for the right offer.

Bears aren't giving Forte what he wants as far as long-term deal plus with Bush in the fold they have all the leverage. I think that makes a deal more likely also.

While we're talking dream scenarios, might as well toss in Wins Low and turn that 3rd rounder into a 2nd.

I don't think the Bears offer that trade.

Two things I wonder about: Forte's health and how much a new contract would cost. But, in the end, I just don't think the Bears would offer that kind of deal.

Seeing as they lost Greg Olson last year they might Jump on that trade.  As an added bonus they love "aggressive physical OL.  Why not throw in Trueblood and see if we could maybe send them Winslow, #5 (the draft pick), and Trueblook.  For Forte,  #18, a 3rd this year, and a 3rd or 4th next year.

I thought Lovie said he wanted quickness & speed, even at the QB position?

Yup. 2012 and 2013. So either Justin is talking about the Bears' 2014 third-rounder or he just didn't think it through as well as you did.

Dude is 26 now, he would be a one contract guy, especially at RB.

\\\\\\\"Java, do you understand this a perfect example of why people beg me to suspend or ban you on a daily basis? Are you actually trying to make a point? Seriously what is the reason for even commenting. In fact why do you even bother coming to the boards? What happened to the intelligent poster from years ago?  A real shame. Like the Bucs yesterday, a wasted effort.\\\\\\\"
