Not 2012, but this is a good flick that I would recommend.

Avengers will be forgotten about in a month. Too many good movies coming out soon.

Avengers is of course a good one.   But that one's already been seen by everyone.    What else is out there?

I saw Prometheus on Friday in IMAX....it wasn't amazing or anything..but it's worth checking out if you enjoy sci-fi.

Actually the problem isnt that Freeman stinks. He is average. He puts up good numbers just often enough to make you think he is better than he is. Bad and great are convincing. But mediocre makes you live with the delusion for too many years. He is just good enough to waste our time and not good enough to get us where we want to go.

I was told by a buddy who is a professional photog not to waste my money on Prometheus IMAX.   Unless a movie is actually shot with IMAX cameras....don't bother.

It wasn't.

I don't think there has been any mainstream film completely shot in IMAX. I think the Dark Knight had like 30 minutes and the new one is supposed to have more but the rest is a conversion.  I think MI 4 had some also.  I do believe Prometheus was filmed entirely with 3d cameras though.

Hmm...a bunch of posts have up and disappeared...Ridley must not have liked how his film was being described...

I just watched Thor recently.  I thought I would detest it, but it was alright.

It was campy, but it was good for me.

I want to see the Avengers, and Brave.  Those two seem like pretty entertaining movies.  That and the movie with Willis and Murray.

I just saw Prometheus today in non-3D. It wasn't unforgettable or overwhelmingly amazing, but it was certainly worth the ticket. It left room for interpretation, made a subtle tie to the Alien franchise, set the stage for a sequel, and pleased my eyes with an occasionally half-naked Noomi Rapace. Charlize Theron was pretty sexy too, but anytime I look at her I just think of Rita trying to get the gold star from Mr. F. Either way, I definitely enjoyed the movie although I don't think it was for everyone.

Also, during the previews, I saw the trailer for the movie "The Possession" and that alone did a great job of frightening me.

It's "based on a true story" so after seeing the trailer, I looked it up. Real or not, its pretty scary/interesting for those who find interest in the paranormal.

Hopefully this movie doesn't flop like The Devil Inside did after releasing a similarly terrific trailer.

Anyone checking out TDKR this weekend?

Just got my ticket for Saturday in IMAX. Hope it doesn't disappoint, everything that I have read says it won't.

Any horror fans, this is for you. It has received some fantastic reviews so far, and while some may not like the "found-film" genre, this is supposed to be a very unique and original film.

That is the International Trailer. There is also a red band trailer which is a little more intense for those who are interested. I'm very excited to see this one, although, after the fantastic trailer/ad campaign for The Devil Inside, I've learned to temper my expectations when it comes to horror films.
