You can bet Shiano has picked Belichick's brain on the draft process...  Will we see a new era in our draft room where trading back, stockpiling picks, and fill out our roster with a bunch of 2nd and 3rd rounders becomes the formula?

You can do that when you already have good players and a Hall of Fame QB on your team.

Harder to do when you need star players.

Or you could see the unconventional picks that the Pats have been known for lately.

You can do that when you already have good players and a Hall of Fame QB on your team.

Harder to do when you need star players.
And if you can trade a good player like Mankins for a 1st, that gives you more power in the wheeling and dealing.
