It's probably the coolest nickname I've heard in a good while.

So you're not a fan of the "cheetah"?

Heh, in Atlanta the Cheetah is a very popular strip club.

I'd prefer Puma anyway.

Looks like QB will at least have other career options after he's released.

I was the first to coin the phrase in the chat.

"THE RED BARRON

I LIKE THAT"

Just sayin'! :D

Nobody coined anything...

Its not hard for anyone with a brain to think of The Red Barron. His colors at Alabama were Crimson(red) and now the Bucs (Red). And his last name is Barron. I immediately thought of it after he was selected.

Its a nickname that many on here will use for him but lets wait and see what he does on the field first before we give him that nickname.

Nobody called Sapp the QB Killa when he was drafted.

Seriously...how obvious is "Red Barron".

If you thump your chest over that, you are a fake silverback.

Nicknames for players that haven't stepped on the NFL football field? Seriously?

Let them earn it first.

I don't think the A-train got his name immediately out of Purdue. I believe he got it when he showed us what he was capable of.

Jesus...the nics came with the players.  They are obvious, or given.

Not all guys have them.  Vincent Jackson is a stud and he doesn't have one.  Aside from Action.

I sure don't want to burst anyone's bubble.....but....Coach Gruden called Mark the.."Red Barron" on ESPN immediately after the pick was made.     I think it's a great nickname and if you were first to bring it to the boards I commend you.

It’s going to look to some people like a different play every time we use it, but pretty soon they’ll be able to recognize it....by watching the official for the first-down signal.   -Vincent T. Lombardi

God...is someone trying to copywrite that nic?  It is sooo obvious.

Pretty cool as well.

It has already stuck.

Wouldn't surprise me; people seem to register anything that could be used as a profit at some point.

Martin wasn't necessarily pleased that the hampster/hamster moniker followed him from BSU to Tampa. You could hear it in his voice when he told the story how he acquired it from his teammate

"The Barron Wasteland"...where TEs and WRs go to die.

Actually the problem isnt that Freeman stinks. He is average. He puts up good numbers just often enough to make you think he is better than he is. Bad and great are convincing. But mediocre makes you live with the delusion for too many years. He is just good enough to waste our time and not good enough to get us where we want to go.
