\\\\\\\"Java, do you understand this a perfect example of why people beg me to suspend or ban you on a daily basis? Are you actually trying to make a point? Seriously what is the reason for even commenting. In fact why do you even bother coming to the boards? What happened to the intelligent poster from years ago?  A real shame. Like the Bucs yesterday, a wasted effort.\\\\\\\"

If they are listing him at 340lbs, he's probably over 350lbs.

Wow! If he is really 340+, I doubt we will be seeing hiim on the field anytime soon. Anyone know details about the weight clause in his contract? Does it just fine him (if so how much) or does it offer cap relief and a trade possibility? Of course Dotson needs to keep playing well, but if the 340+ is true, I'd not be suprised to see a move in the next 2-3 weeks.

Being he's only 6'4" I would say his ideal weight should be 325ish.

Why does he have so much weight trouble?

Since he's been paid it has gotten worse

Id say if he can't keep his weight down, don't play him this preseason. Let Dotson get the reps. If that can't motivate Penn to get the weight down and if Dotson performs well, trade Penn.

If only someone could have foreseen a guy with a weight problem before getting a big contract might continue to have that weight problem after getting paid...

It's all good.  Dominik put that 330lb weight clause in his contract, so no big deal.  Until now, that is....

Thanks had no idea what weight was in shape for Penn. Gaining 15lbs for Oline guys who can't workout probably takes no time at all, not concerned yet.

Well the concern is that he usually starts off at a lower weight from OTA's, TC and preseason. But as the practice schedule relaxes and as the temps drop, his weight grows. If he is 340 now, what would his weight be in December? 360? Geesch.

It was a good move by Dom to put that weight clause in his contract. I just wish we could have drafted Reiff.

Hasn't he always played around 340 ??

What is your point? I was wrong? Ok. You win. I was wrong.

i actually think that is why Dotson has been talked up so much: a little motivation for penn.  i don't care how much they talk up dotson though its scary to think of a guy that green protecting Freeman's blind side.

340 isn't bad for Penn, and Schiano has said good things about his condition. Sounds like the OP is pulling a Fennley and fishing for headlines.
