I reckon this spells the end for Benn's time as a Buc.

WDAE is reporting this.

Preston Parker may be the man out or someone other than Benn.

Shipley=injuries

First of all, where the hell did you see this news at?

And second of all... why would we replace a big, fast, injury prone receiver with a small, slow, injury prone receiver?  If anyone's out of the loop, it's Stroughter or Parker.  But honestly, I don't know if Shipley's good enough to beat either of them out, either.

So we pick up an often injured WR to release another often injured WR? Doesn't make sense. But hey, when was the last time the Bucs made any sense?

If we are going to release Benn I would rather have CJ85 than Shipley. But that's just me.

Yeah, it seems legit.

But I doubt it's anything more than a tryout.

Cincinnati Bengals place Jordan Shipley on waivers

The Cincinnati Bengals announced Friday that wide receiver Jordan Shipley has been placed on waivers.

A third-round draft pick (No. 84 overall) out of Texas in 2010, Shipley had an impressive rookie season, catching 52 passes for 600 yards and three touchdowns as the No. 3 receiver in a group headlined by Chad Johnson and Terrell Owens.

In 2011, Shipley had four receptions for 14 yards before tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee in Week 2. Shipley was limited in drills during the offseason, but he was cleared to participate at the start of training camp and had one reception for 4 yards in two preseason games.

Following Thursday night's 24-19 preseason victory over the Atlanta Falcons, Joe Reedy of The Cincinnati Enquirer observed that Shipley's knee was wrapped in ice and suggested the leg wasn't responding the way the receiver and the Bengals had hoped.

Shipley, 26, has two seasons at league-minimum base salaries remaining on his rookie contract. Despite his injury history, his cheap contract might prompt a team looking for help in the slot to place a waiver claim on him. The Dallas Cowboys could be a possibility for the Temple, Texas native, as could the Jacksonville Jaguars, where former Bengals offensive coordinator Bob Bratkowski is running the offense.

Finally, a player the fans can get behind.

FRG is the most logical poster on this board.  You guys just don\'t like where the logical conclusions take you.

So we pick up an often injured WR to release another often injured WR?

Difference being Shipley is smart enough to actually learn his playbook...  unlike Arrelious Bustulous.

What is your point? I was wrong? Ok. You win. I was wrong.

I don't want Chad Johnson anywhere near my team.
