I'm his supporter, and I wasn't hurt. I'd be more hurt if he voted with the conservatives in their efforts to bust unions, dismantle the middle class, and eliminate the tax burden for billionaires. Since he doesn't do those things, his actions haven't hurt me. His wife and family can deal with this on their own. They don't need me, or you for that matter, to be their advocate. He broke no laws. This is a non issue as far as I'm concerned.

I expect them to do the job I sent them there to do. I'm not the morality police, and neither are you. I'm not looking to elect Dudley Doo-Right. I'm looking to elect people who will legislate on my behalf. If he didn't break any laws, I fail to see how this is anything more than a personal indiscretion.

If there was a candidate that I knew would repeal Gramm-Leach-Bliley, NAFTA, GATT, end tax loopholes for companies that offshore, raise the top end tax rate, and implement a public insurance option, I could care less if he/she was a former stripper/gay prostitute that was addicted to midget porn, I'd vote for them.

Where does it suggest I am a Weiner fan, and not merely someone who supports a politician that shares my political ideology regardless of their personal indiscretions? I think my position was pretty clear, and pretty clearly out of the box that you are trying to put them in.

The larger point I was making is that there is a difference between doing something illegal and/or unethical in your role as a congressman, and cyber-cheating on your wife. You stated that I was a "fan" of Weiner's. I am no such thing, and you know you have no leg to stand on with those quotes, which is why you quickly pivoted on the word "fan" and changed it to "supporting".

The bottom line is that my support for Weiner was rooted in the fact that the guy did his job well and represented the interests of his constituency. His personal indiscretions are his own demons, but had nothing to do with his job performance. If you think he's the only civil servant to ever cheat on his wife or inappropriately flirt with a woman than I have a bridge in Brooklyn you might be interested in.

Biggs attempt to tie Weiner into this discussion is bogus on two fronts. The first one being that I am not a "fan" of his. What I am a fan of is not allowing feigned, partisan driven "morality" to run otherwise law-abiding civil servants from their elected offices. The second front being the fact that there is a clear and obvious difference between a public official lying about a personal indiscretion and one lying about his or her own policies and how they will affect the electorate. One has nothing to do with the job you are being elected to do, the other has everything to do with the job you are being elected to do.

Im cool with Stewart at times....the worst though is "The Ed show", with Ed Schultz. While I do agree with some of his points, he is the most bitter and pissed off commentator I have ever seen. He is very hard to watch.
