Sounds like your beliefs line up almost perfectly with Gary Johnson . I strongly urge you to reconsider the "wasted vote" philosophy. That is exactly what the two parties want you to believe , and exactly why we have this endless cycle of dildos in office. If everyone just stopped and realized it's not a waste to vote outside the two party structure , in fact it's the the only way NOT to waste your vote , this country would finally begin to have REAL choices. 

Any vote R or O is a vote for status quo.

Had I not seen what happened to Ross Perot I would be inclined to believe you.  Voting for a third party will make no difference.  It didn't make a difference then and it won't this year. It is a wasted vote with the status how it is.  No amount of third party votes is going to change when the corruption is as deep as it is.

Your solution is simply to give up and go along with the corruption  ? Because you want to feel like you mattered ? That strikes me as ridiculous.

In 1996 I had the same attitude towards it as you do.  It is the reality of the two party system.  Only a huge partaking would make a difference.  Do you think there is a third party member that could get more votes than a D or R?

Sounds like you're confused as to what a Libertarian is.

Trust me, I am not at all confused as to what a Libertarian is. I suspect I know more about Libertarianism than a good number of self-proclaimed Libertarians do.

Libertarians want to eliminate the Fed, because they are smarter than most of the world's economists and know what's best. Libertarians want to eliminate Social Security and entitlements, because they are smarter than the vast majority of Americans that favor them and know what's best. Libertarians want to eliminate all regulations on pretty much everything, from food and medications to the environment, to health care and more because they know what's best for us because they are smarter than us.

The whole philosophy of libertarianism is based on the belief that people should be left alone to make thier own decisions . In a libertarian socierty , everyone is free to decide what is best for themselves, regardless of intelligence , so long as those decisions don't aggress on anyone else.

Our beliefs don't presume to impose anything on you , so the fact that we are smarter than the rest of you ( which we are , by the way ) , is irrelevant  .

That's probably why they rioted and formed unions and forced the federal government into actively creating all of these regulations and safeguards that Libertarians want to do away with in the first place.

During the late 1800's when there was virtually no regulations on business, or anything for that matter, and nothing in place to protect workers or consumers from corporate greed and exploitation, I'd venture to guess that the common folk didn't feel too free. That's probably why they rioted and formed unions and forced the federal government into actively creating all of these regulations and safeguards that Libertarians want to do away with in the first place.

Or the moved to a place where they could be free, a place funny enough called America!
