Looks like the Jets cut CB Donnie Fletcher out of BC.  I remember he was a name thrown around these boards leading up to the draft.  He supposedly had a good size/speed combo.

Kehl might be an interesting guy to look at.

I'd hope their trade/waiver claim priorities are OL and DL and then OL and DL again AND THEN the rest....

He's one of those guys that had a good preseason so trade might be the best way to get him, although numerous teams might be going after him running his value up. Or no teams are going after him and then he's just released.

Wow. Okoye could have been a great addition. It's unfortunate his knee didn't hold up.

In other news, EJ Wilson is most likely doing excessive cartwheels.

620 reporting Okoye has been released, close to returning to Bears. Man, we have zero defensive depth..

A few sites are reporting it. Craziness.

Don't worry the Bucs are the only power running team in the NFL. All the other teams are built for passing.

FRG is the most logical poster on this board.  You guys just don\'t like where the logical conclusions take you.

I'm surprised Dom didn't get at least a 7th out of Chicago

Its pretty crazy.  Im sure the team has something in the works.  They wouldnt make these cuts without having something up their sleeve.  So lets relax.

Amobi Okoye out in Tampa, headed back to Chicago
Posted by Darin Gantt on August 31, 2012, 10:51 AM EDT

Getty ImagesToday’s cut-down day in the NFL, but there are apparently some incomings too.

Sean Jensen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports that the Bears are finalizing a deal to bring back defensive tackle Amobi Okoye, who is being released by the Buccaneers.

Okoye was reportedly close to a return from knee surgery in June, but had missed three preseason games and the Bucs apparently ran out of patience.

The former No. 10 overall pick hasn’t developed into a dominant player, but can help with interior pass-rush and with the Bears banged up at the position as well, they needed the depth.

McCoy, Miller, Gilberry, Gibson
EJ Wilson (Swingman)
Clayborn, Bennett, Johnson

Am I missing someone? If not, I don't get the warm and fuzzies about our DL. Mainly in the pass rushing dept. if McCoy and Clayborn go down like they did a couple weeks ago we are in trouble.
