I'm wondering how long Barron's brain cells will continue to function with hits like that. Smith will definitely have some residual effects, but if Barron does this indefinitely, he'll likely be slurring his speech like this guy.....

Mark Barron turns his body and clearly leads with the shoulder. Barron is standing at a 90 degree angle, right shoulder forward, and Smith actually runs into Barron's helmet with his helmet.

Smith was looking for a hit. He just hit Barber and kept going and he thought he was going to take out Barron as well. I'm not sure where the author is getting that head-down BS. Barron didn't lead with his head!!

I'll bet you anything Smith would not want Barron suspended. There was nothing dirty there.

i was gonna do a long response but figured it was pointless...because i dont know the plan.  cant defend something i have no idea on.

Maybe you should follow golf, or tennis. This football game is a mans sport. Helemet to helmet happens, and this wasn't intentional, clearly.

And he's complaining about it being out of bounds, as well.  That's preposterous.  He was running up the sideline.  Even Smith thought he was still in bounds.

Semi-off topic, but it's awesome how Barron delivered a hit with that much force with so little space to create momentum.

Half of Smith was also out of bounds.

The NFL is trying to change the mentality of neanderthals like yourself. Barron's health depends on not hitting with his helmet.

If Steve Smith doesn't duck at the last second then it wouldn't have been helmet to helmet hit. Smith Realized he was about to get hit and tried to inflict punishment on Barron. He failed. The speed of this game is so fast these kind of hits will always happen. Proving intent is hard.

Barron did his job. End of story.

unable to carry on a simple discussion? it's a message board in a thread about a play in the game...you're free not to read/post in the thread if you're getting angry over a point of view that you might disagree with.

If you ever played football you would know a hit like that would do nothing to the brain because the impact was taking with the shoulders
