Hypothetical question here. Most of us obviously wouldn't want this, and I also want to say this scenario isn't likely with teams like Oakland out there. Lets say the Bucs end up with the #1 overall pick in the 2013 draft. Your the GM, what would you do with the pick? Have a clear-cut #1 caliber player you would take? Most would prefer a trade down and a ransom of picks, but lets say there are no takers. Who do you take?

Take the best QB.. If we are picking #1, Freeman blew all season bcuz we have the talent.

Those of us that have been around since inception know this franchise has a history of poor draft picks. Hell, we've sucked for decades, drafted at the top, and here we are.......hanging with the bottom feeders.

Reality is this team will be around .500...

I see an Olineman and a corner in our 2013 draft early...

If Freeman doesn't progress through the next 12 games, I'd think they'd force a QB...   most likely a 2nd tier guy if we're picking in the teens.  Not optimal at all.

Best possible scenario is Free and Sullvan figure it out regardless of the current debbie downer situation...

Who knew how good it would feel as a fan when we now know what it\'s like for our team to have a direction, an attitude, and dare I say an offense?.

Good time to be a Bucs fan.

More than likely we will be one pick away from landing a superstar and end up with a bust. Think Suh, Joe Thomas, and Megatron.

I'll give you Joe Thomas and Megatron but Suh.. Not so much. McCoy is better.

Better to be #1 overall than #4 overall and not have your top choice.

No doubt, McCoy is way better than Suh

...except in any statistical category you use to compare them.

I think if this were to happen the Glazers would rethink Schiano as HC. They spent a hundred million dollars last offseason and were expecting an improvement. Getting the first overall pick would not be acceptable one bit. I will also say I dont think this team is that bad to get that pick. We have some bad depth but Schiano will also have this team working harder than some teams we will still play this year. He will pick up some wins on that alone. I only see the team getting to the number one pick if Freeman gets hurt and Dan the Man plays a lot worse than Freeman has so far. If thats the case theres no way this team would be able to win a game.

We've lost 3 games, each by 7 points or less. To think we would pick #1 is silly. I also think we end up around .500 and picking 12-17. And I think you have to trade up and go QB, or stay put and go TE/CB.

Next year with the return of Clayborn, Joseph, Bowers we get back a trio of good players. Hopefully Dotson holds down RT and takes that need off the board.
