Old Jerry Buss passed away today.  Had a pretty good run with the Lakers.  Kobe Bryant, Magic Johnson, Shaquille O’Neal and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar all were close by when he passed from cancer.  He was a colorful guy, who liked the LA nightlife.  Right up to the end, if you saw him out on the town, he had a drink in one hand and a cigarette in the other.  Hard to argue his success though, 10 NBA titles under his watch.

\\\\\\\"Java, do you understand this a perfect example of why people beg me to suspend or ban you on a daily basis? Are you actually trying to make a point? Seriously what is the reason for even commenting. In fact why do you even bother coming to the boards? What happened to the intelligent poster from years ago?  A real shame. Like the Bucs yesterday, a wasted effort.\\\\\\\"

I think the Kings failed with this one.

The Dwight Howard experiment has been dreadful for the Lakers.  They can't get him out of there fast enough.  I think at this point they would trade him for a bag of chips.

I can speak on behalf of Magic Nation when I say we are WAY over him. We always had his back.......always.......and now, he hasn't even finished year 1 in LA, and the Laker fanbase has already written this crybaby off........good for them to realize Dwight for what he is.......a fraud.

The Lakers are supposed to be putting on a late charge to the playoffs.  I think in the last week or so, they have gained half a game in the standings.

Not looking good for them.  And Utah won the season series against the Lakers, so they can't tie Utah in the standings, they have to pass them.

Looking like a 2nd loss in a row tonight for the Lakers. Not looking good for any playoff hope.

The Nuggets looking to take over the 4th or 3rd seed, playing clippers tomorrow night.

Ya they are looking strong.  Lakers are on fire now too, but it may be too little,  too late for them.  Interestingly,  the Celtics have played  better without Rondo, than the did with him.

Losing Kobe could be the end of the Lakers late season playoff push.  He is pissed too,  dirty play.

I was expecting the streak for the nuggets to end tonight coming off an overtime win, then @ OKC. But now we got 13 straight.
