Torn Plantar Plate

Quote from: Buccaneers
Nicks has been playing through a toe injury for much of the season but apparently the issue has become too severe for him to finish the year and he is now scheduled for surgery.  The specific ailment is a torn plantar plate, the same injury that recently forced Dallas Cowboys linebacker Sean Lee to injured reserve.

More experience for the young guys and a higher draft pick. Not like we had any realistic big plans this year anyway.

I'm assuming this is the same lingering toe injury he's had but its now been decided that it needs surgery?

Illuminator is a good poster. He sticks to his guns and makes good points. Some don\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'t like that.

Just damn. And he was blowing some holes wide open into the line for our RBs. This sucks. Guess will find out what Coach is made of sooner rather than later with this much adversity.

I'd say so. I saw someone said that it is the same type of injury that cost Sean Lee his season.

Well if you have to look at it another way, let's let everyone heal up this year, build some depth, have the greatest draft possible and go for the playoffs next year. The Bucs have a ton of money in this guy, know what he can do, figure this is a building season and why risk Nicks for next year. But damn we sure can't catch any breaks at all. Maybe we can get Kenyatta Walker off the couch.
