Anyone think they'll put Brooks and Sapp in at the same time? I saw the Dolphins do it with Thomas and Taylor. Think it would be special, 2 great teammates who were drafted together and turned the team around.

I'm betting political correctness plays a larger part in it than William's role in the team's limited success.

Illuminator is a good poster. He sticks to his guns and makes good points. Some don\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'t like that.

Good player, he deserves to be in there.

He was barely good and the ROH should reach a little higher.

Bucs Q&A: Why is Doug Williams not in Ring of Honor?

Zionists, mostly.

Until preseason, you stay classy Red Board.

He should have gotten the honor before Giles and Gruber.

I don't know about before Gruber, but definitely before Giles.

Dumbest thing you've ever said....  what a minute...., I take that back,  I forgot who posted this.

Giles obviously goes in before Williams.

Fans who only became Buc fans in 2002-3 (many on this message board) don't recognize DW's importance to the franchise back then.

Doug Williams won't go in while Mark Dummynik is still GM....word has it they hated each other , and it was the reason Doug was released from the personnel dept. I'm sure the Glazers consult Dummynik when choosing ROH players.

What is your point? I was wrong? Ok. You win. I was wrong.

This is wrong as well as ignorant. The Bucs wnt 2-26 before DW came along. He was a big part of why they made the playoffs. And when he left, Culverhouse thought like you did and proved to be very very wrong. Just watch the final 3 regular season games of 1982 and you'll understand. But the game has changed and you can't compare the way the game is played now to then. DW was a difference maker. If he wan't, virtually the same team wouldn't have been so bad thereafter.

Even if he did get in the ROH, I doubt he would even show up, after the way the Bucs treated him.

\\\\\\\"Java, do you understand this a perfect example of why people beg me to suspend or ban you on a daily basis? Are you actually trying to make a point? Seriously what is the reason for even commenting. In fact why do you even bother coming to the boards? What happened to the intelligent poster from years ago?  A real shame. Like the Bucs yesterday, a wasted effort.\\\\\\\"

Well he has made the playoffs the most time out of all the Bucs QBs.

Doug Williams 3
Trent Dilfer 1.5
Shaun King 1.5
Brad Johnson 2
Chris Simms 1
Jeff Garcia 1
and the only one who might have a shot is Brad Johnson - and he was in tail end of his career when he got here.  There is not a qb in the bucs past that is a ROH candidate.

Some of you fail to understand context. The Bucs were a national joke before Doug Williams came along. He made them respectable and sometimes excellent. As for Brad Johnson, he won a Super Bowl. BOTH belong in.
