Cops took a chance throwing him to the ground like that and the way they detained him. All for waving a hat while walking down the stairs. They didnt see the entire escalation. Wouldnt want to be those guys

What an embarassment to our fanbase. Please people, lets not behave like this when we visit other stadiums. Save the swashbuckling for RJS.

I doubt we have a Minnesota fan base.  This is probably somebody "trolling" in the stadium looking for a fight.

It looked to me like the guy had on an authentic Freeman jersey. So i'm not so sure the guy's motive was to 'troll' around the Metrodome looking for a fight. Spend over $250 on a jersey, $50 on a ticket, $20 on beer, and $25 for parking, to get body slammed and taken to jail by a fat guy? I don't think so...

Buc fan had two or three people hovering over him in a highly menacing manner yet he's the one that gets thrown out?

To make matters worse a cop w/ a thug mentality decides he wants to show what tough guy he  is by taking Buc fan down. Idiot freakin' cop.

Of course Buc fan needs to use some common sense and not provoke the natives.

Regardless, What the cop did was over the top and a couple of those Viking fans should have been shown the door instead.

Two things:
1.  A football game is NOT something to get either so drunk you act like and idiot like this guy or just act like an idiot and get arrested over.  Let's see, he will go to jail for resisting and go to trial ... lose his job here in Tampa and face a very uncertain future.

2.  I can always count on fools on this board to criticize law enforcement when arrresting a resisting idiot.  Amazing.

Anyone siding with that Buc fan is just as much a moron as him.   That guy is a disgrace.

I have to admit that in my entire life, I've never heard anyone call a police officer a pig who wasn't a criminal himself.

You guys are referring to me.  I'm the first one who called the cop a pig.

I'm not a criminal.  I don't do drugs, I don't drink alcohol, I don't steal, I don't hurt people, etc etc.

Every interaction I have ever had with a police officer, when they were acting as a citizen of the United States...they were great people.  This includes attending college classes with them, being friends with them (one of my best friends is an FBI agent, another good friend is an officer in Washington), and in general non duty oriented interactions.

Almost every duty oriented interaction I have had with a police officer has been a disaster.  They have lied, they have abused their power as law enforcement officers to get their way, they have abused their power to harass, they have in general not done what one would expect of someone whose job is to serve and protect.  Some of that...I can totally understand.  When they put on a uniform, they put on a huge target...and like anyone else, they are most interested in going home safely at night to hug their children and kiss them good night.  Some of their actions though...like the actions in this video...can not be forgiven in that manner.  These cops hurt someone else, when it was not necessary.  They infringed upon his rights for no reason.  He was not resisting, he was waving a hat.

Again, as I said earlier in the thread.  I have nothing but respect for law enforcement.  They (in general) do something that I could not, and will not do...putting a target on their back with the general idea of protecting the population.  It is however a well known psychological effect of granting power to individuals that they WILL abuse it.

A spade is a spade.  A pig is a pig.  Not every cop is a pig.  Not every card in the deck is a spade.

I do not mind the fool getting tossed, after trash talking and even shoving a guy. No problem with him getting arrested and spending a few hours in jail. His actions might have led to people getting injured.
But his stupidity does not justify stupid reaction by the police, they are PROFESSIONALS at this, trained and payed for making smart decisions in those kind of situation. Even if one of the vikings fan(not trained at keeping calm/smart in those kind of situations), before the cops joined in, would have smacked that fool, i would not haver been surprised, thats something you have to expect after being a jerk to others, but it still would have been illegal, even if provoked by that fool.

The bucs fans(as much as i hate to say this), followed the cops, he was not resisting the cops escorting him out of the stadium. There was absolutly not reason to 'hurt' him and even worse they were flirting with disaster there. One guy falling down the stairs because of this, might have got him killed.

The police is not allowed to bump anyone off the street while car chasing a criminal. They still have to make smart decisons, colleteral damge has to be minimized/prevented. Its not just about the result at all costs.
