This whole BPA/need theory is pointless, stupid, and pre-mature.

The problem with the BPA thing is too many think it is an "all or none" proposition. It isn't. BPA is usually part of a much more complex strategy, a combo of need, BPA, VORP (value over replacement player- that is how big is the drop-off between a guy at position X and possible guys at same position one round later?), and depth of class at position next year.

If Barkley drop to Washington and he's the BPA do they take him? Heck no.

You can't just assume Davin Joseph is washed up. Well I guess you could, but to say it's premature would be a gross understatement.

Regarding the last few comments about Te'o improving our LB corps. Say we move Foster to OLB and put Te'o at MLB, what does that do? We aren't going to be playing 3 LBs on passing downs. Our run D is already #1. Does it take us from 80 yds/game to 75 yds/game on run D? Is that going to dramatically change our defense?

BPA is all well and good to an extent. Te'o should marginally improve our already top notch LB core. But even a lesser player at CB should dramatically improve our secondary.

Would it be cool to have Te'o and have a ferocious LB core? Absolutely. I wouldn't even put it past Schiano if he really wants a feared D. The problem is that it doesn't make us that much better. DB DB DB or DT/DE pass rush specialists.
