When the season ended last New Years with a crushing defeat on the road to the Falcons even the most optimistic fan wouldn't admit to allowing the thought of a serious playoff run in 2012 to enter their mind. But 11 months later the Buccaneers now control their own destiny. Pewter Report breaks down the teams the Buccaneers are competing against for a playoff spot in head coach Greg Schiano's first season.

I don't want playoffs if we can't beat Atlanta! Screw those churpy mother #$%&ers!

Naismith was right about Revis. Everyone else is a dummy.

1 game against the Saints and 2 against the Falcons.... we got to win at least 2 of those 3 to really have a shot. Then wins against Eagles and Rams would give us 10 wins. That might do it.

That Denver game is going to be tough. You dont want to depend on that.

Next week is huge. Its a must win. We got three tough road games (atl, den, no) and two winnable home games (phi, stl) so lets win next week!

All it  takes is a seattle collapse to get them to 8-8. Im not betting on that but it would mean finshing the year at 8 or 9 wins. Next week is not must win. If we can knock off PHI, STL, NO, and at ATL then thats 10 wins.

It won't be easy with a patchwork OL and secondary so I'll temper expectations a bit but they've really gotten my attention with today's effort.....that alone is enough to rally behind for this team's future outlook.

Seattle has a pretty easy schedule coming up. We have a pretty difficult one

I'm as excited as anyone about today's win and the season so far, but to expect this team to win @ NO and @ ATL is asking a lot...if not too much. (especially if Wright is out)

Seattle's next 2 games are @ Miami and @ Chicago...I wouldn't be surprised if they lose both of those games.

Yes, they have a "chance" at the playoffs.   But the easy part of the schedule just ended.   I think they end up 8-8 and 3rd place in the NFC South.

9-7 looks most likely. Which would be better than what many predicted in pre-season, but will probably be short of the playoffs.

Although I still think Atlanta is cooling off. They struggled against Arizona today. And their run defense is 26th in the league.
