The ESPN playoff calculator has appeared for the year. Try not to spend too much time on it  :P

Looks like no matter what we end up 9-7 and miss out.

Yeah, it looks like we are going to have to win 4 games to get in. While it looks unlikely, it is definitely possible. Winning this weekend would make it look much, much easier.

When I filled it out, I had Seattle getting the 6th seed... Had both of us finishing 9-7. They have the tiebreaker though.

Basically, we need to win this weekend.

That last game of the year, ATL will probably rest their players so that should be a win. STL and Philly should be wins. So there are 3 games that we should win.

We gotta win four of our last six and finish 10-6 or better. It's that simple. If we do that, we'll probably get in. If we finish 9-7 or worse we are out.

For the record, they said on NFL network (or ESPN I can't remember) that in the event of a tie, the Bucs would get the nod over the Seahawks. I'm not sure why or how, but they were dicussing the formula and all that, and the experts said the Bucs would in fact win a tie with the Seahawks.

What we don't want is the Cowboys or Saints to finish 10-6.

Winning this week would be huge, but doesn't sink us if we don't. Assuming the Bucs get beat in Denver and win the two they should - there are two must have games - New Orleans and one of the two Atlanta games.  That puts them at 10-6 and there are a number of scenarios that play out to their favor.

New Orleans could be the lynch pin to the whole thing.

I had the Bucs spliting with ATL and losing to Denver, beating New Orleans as well.  That's what I believe has to happen.  I don't think Seattle will finish with a better than 9-7 record.  So I have the Bucs as the 6th seed and a 10-6 record.
