I think the article starts out with a mis-conception..."... A community so in love with their football team ..."I don't think that's actually the reality. Unfortunately.
That last part was dead accurate. The glazers made a ton of moves that pissed the people of Tampa off.Imagine what would've been said if the giants, Pats, jets, or any other big market teams owners bought Man U, fired their Superbowl winning coach, replaced him with a nobody, then sued radio jocky and fans alike... they b1tchslapped everyone around them but expect people to buy tickets??No glazers, YOU should buy seats and spend even more on FA talent to get people to come to rjs! You owe it to the fans that you ran off. People aren't coming back until you prove something to them. If you're not going to do those things, might as well move when the lease is up. ...Then you can GTFO of OUR stadium. If you're not buying up seats, you had better be buying up players, or at least helping charities. I don't want to see more money dropped into the ManU budget!
Funny that Jason doesn't mention the lack of corporate sponsorship and ticket purchase in the area that is afforded to teams in other cities. Happens to both the Rays and the Bucs. Anyone that would investigate our attendance issues would be aware of this.
The fans got smart and now they need coaxing. Quite simple.
If you caught the 60-minutes story on Aaron Rodgers, you saw the story about GB Packer fans. That's a population in love with its team.http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=50134482n
