Mmmnahh, he was great but his time has passed. I think coach S wants to run a totally different type of defense than Monte uses.

Nope.

That ship sailed many moons ago.

I know this is blasphemy around here, but no. Truly feel he was a product of the players around him, not the other way around. Everything started going downhill while he was still here, but then again our defense still sucks balls. Not like we would get worse.

His D was seriously exposed in that Colts game. He was very stubborn in using it; wouldn't mix it up like Sheridan and every good DC today does. Hey, SAPP didn't like him back then  either...

If you guys truly remember our D went down the panters game when he announced he was leaving. Our new offense with that D....wow.. only problem is it may take awhile to get it right

Not at all, I don't think anyone but Java wants him back.

No.  After how he screwed us over at the end he is no longer in my good graces.  I appreciate what he did before that, but taking him back is not in my heart.  That was like having your wife just pack up and leave while you're wrapping the kids Christmas presents.

USC isn't exactly a defensive powerhouse, either.

Gruden and Kiffin back together would be so classic.  I don't even know what to say to that.

I would agree with that.  It is bad when someone quits unexpectedly.  It would be irrational to offer such a person a second shot at quitting one you when needed the most.

I have no doubt that Kiffin is coming back to join Gruden's staff next year.
