Where are the refs at post kneel-down play?

I remember us kneeling it down years ago and an opposing player getting flagged for unsportsmanlike for swatting the ball out of the center's hands trying to anticipate the snap.

Why are the refs allowing the offensive players to cheap shot our D-lineman while they are on the grass after the kneel-down blitz? Some of these players are blatantly punching our guys!

The refs are probably rooting for the offensive players to knock a few teeth loose.   I bet they go home after the game and have a few laughs over beers about allowing the offensive linemen to get a little payback after the whistle.

The difference is in how we are doing it -- the full on hardcore rush -- and the timing.  The league is all mangina now (just look at Barbara Costas tonight for a prime example) and having an old-school, play to the whistle mindset isn't going to fly in an era of over the top "safety" concerns.  When we are banning soda and french fries and voting in the biggest nannies we can find at every level of government, the tough guy approach is just begging to be attacked.  WHat we are doing will be uses as an excuse for changing the rules of the game.  In another day it would be considered good old fashioned competitive spirit.  In the pussified world we now live in it is just meanie McMeaniePants pointless "risk".

You can't possibly make a rule against this. What is it going to say ?

No rule will be made , because it's ridiculous. If they do make a rule like this , we've gone from a real sport to professional wrestling.

They shouldn't even run those plays.  Have the option of not snapping it and getting a delay call with loss of down and time run off.

The option of not snapping it ? That's friggin ridiculous. Why dont we just stop keeping score and make the game 2-hand touch while we're at it ?


How about instead you make it a "delay of game" if the purposely run a play that does not attempt to advance the ball ?

We may see it addressed in the offseason.  The league is all about preventing injuries nowadays.   Is there a more dangerous play that those last second scrums?

Did you watch some of the collisions involved on the onside kick directly before the knee downs???
