The man made a great, long-lasting defense that gained national recognition for more than ten seasons.

 Gruden may have made everything else work, but the defense won that trophy for him, and kiff was the mastermind of that defense. Sure gru was a good coach, and indeed put Tampa over the top, but without kiff, I seriously doubt we ever get to see the Lombardi in Tampa.
