If they do lose the rest this season, Schiano needs to be fired.

Never agree with losing on purpose. Thats why i think the NFL should go to a draft lottery.

If we win ill be happy we won but if we lose ill be happy we are improving our draft spot. The rest of the season is a win win for me haha

It's indisputable, losing out is what's best for the team right now.

Guess you weren't around for the Bucs' 1996 team. Understandable as you and thousands of current Buc fans only became fans after they won a Lombardi.

Actually....I was around for the 1996 team.  I was in Houlihan that season.  Explain how the 1996 season has anything to do with this discussion.  This team already has the improvement from last season, the "learning to win" or whatever you're going to say.  There was no momentum gained in 1996 that carried over to 97, as they finished mediocrely in 1996 too.  So no, I do not buy that comparison.

And the Redskins sealed the deal. Playoffs aren't happening.

Stupid crap followed by more stupid crap.

The most important thing Schiano has ingrained in this team is to never quit. Now we have people calling for the team to quit for draft position. Then we have another #%&^* calling for Schiano to be fired if they lose out. The Bucs won't quit for any reason with Schiano running the team. They will be in the playoffs next season because they never quit and because of the upgrades in talent and in coaching. Stop the stupidity.

Momentum WAS gained from 1996 to 1997 -Having gone 6–10 season the 1996 season, Tampa Bay finished second in the NFC Central, and secured their first playoff berth since 1982.  Had the Bucs tanked the 1996 season, Dungy's first for draft position, like you're recommending for Schiano's first, who knows what would have happened.

I'd be very discouraged if we lost out.

I'm still looking for improvement from a few areas

And the momentum is already gained.  We went from 4-12 to at least 6-10, there's the momentum.  They proved they can hang in the game.  I truly don't believe that the team is any more likely to win in the future just because they beat the Rams at home in 2 weeks.  Oh...and for your use of 1996, I'll give you 2006.  Lose that game against the Browns, instead of winning a completely meaningless game, and the future of this team is so different, for the better

you think the team will lose their last seven of this season (for draft position) and they'll go into 2013 with confidence? Seriously?
Unbelievable that members of this fanbase are wishing the Bucs finish the 2012 season w/ 7 straight losses to get a higher draft pick - with no guarantee that a higher pick will even mean anything.

I think that the team lost 10 games in a row, and came into this season with confidence.

Only because the head coach was fired.
