Doug Martin's inconsistency

Yeah, yeah, yeah. I know Doug Martin is #3 in rushing yards, but isn't it maddening how inconsistent he is? He's started 13 games, yet only had 100 yards rushing in four of them. What's up with that? He's had one really great game but hasn't come within 100 yards of that game before or since. He's had five games where he averaged under 4.0 YPC. Talk about streaky. I'm not sure we can go forward with him. When he's a free agent, I say we offer him a 1-year $2 million prove it deal before we decide whether we can commit to him or not. He may just be another Aaron Stecker.

Those fluke blow up games against Oakland and Minnesota helped disguise what he truly is. An extremely inconsistent, above-average RB.

I would put more on the OL than on Martin. If you watch the games he does not get a ton of holes to pop through. In fact, most is his second effort and than some. This kid is good and our team just sucks right now. Some due to injury. Some to youth, but yesterday just proves how terrible we are right now and I am a loyal fan since the beginning.

uh.....100yds rushing games arent the standard for success. Arian Foster has 6 this year. Hes a top back and has strung together multiple 1000yds seasons.

If a HB is supposed to get 100yds every game, 2000yd seasons would be the standard. He could stand to be a little more consistent week to week, but I dont think your measuring stick really tells anything.

If this is a shot at others, well then it may be a little too subtle for those youre targeting.

In Doug Martin's defense, the OL was a large reason the team lost and Martin had over 125 yards rushing.
