If Jarvis Jones is Von Miller 2.0 sell the draft for him. D. Milliner is the top corner right now and I think he's just ok. I just dont think Jarvis Jones is the animal Miller is. But everyone of the draft analyst are sold on him. Jones doesn't look like the naturally ferocious pass rusher that Miller is. He just looks like he's more athletic than college tackles, and that means squat in the NFL.

Von was a much, much better athlete coming out. He is like a lessor version of Miller. Miller has a better burst off the line, bigger, and has longer arms. Jones also has a mild case of spine stenosis  so who knows how much he has left in the NFL. It was the reason why he transferred from USC to UGA.

I don't want ANY of our draft picks, especially on defense with medical history. AC and Bowers is enough, a third would be tragic.

That said, I'm with you on Milliner. I'm not 100% sold that he is a legit top 10 prospect or screams elite, best CB in the nation. There are plenty of CB's in my opinion who are just as good as him. Bradley Roby and Logan Ryan can be had in the latter then we should definitely trade down.

Technically we already had a 3rd. Brian price! If you look at the potential this d line had a couple of years ago and the way it fell apart, its eerily similar to all the potential the o line once had with a young trio of trublood, Joseph and Sears. I guess price would be Sears. McCoy is Davin, a pro bowler who looks dominant at times but average at other times and he is largely written off by buc fans.

We blitzed the hell out of Sam Bradford and he still had all day. It is a problem.

Since that was the case why didn't the coaching staff change the blitz packages? I don't think the players are at fault on this one.

In any scheme your job is to get to the QB on pass plays and we get thrown on more than anyone and have the fewest sacks. If we don't get help it will be worst next year.

Yes unfortunately it was he tore a ligament in his right knee with a partial tear to another. He could very possibly never be the same and its not like he was dominant without the bum knee not everyone is Adrian Peterson

It takes a couple years to get back to normal and sometimes they just aren't the same ever.  Then the compensating hurts the other leg. Ask caddy and Terrell Davis and Frank gore.. and Derek Rose.. and Bowers. He won't be right next year. We need a fckin DE man.

Clayborn has never been an explosive speed rusher. If you really watch, you'll see he's actually the last one to move when the ball is snapped. His game is all about strength and motor. Out working and out lasting his opponent. If he relied on being quick twitch explosion and speed, I'd be a little worried, but he doesn't so I'm not. The injury shouldn't have any long term effect on his game.

As much as I like the guy though, I'm not sold that he is what we need at RDE. I wish he could bulk up and move inside next to McCoy so we could draft zee German to play RDE. THAT guy is what you need at RDE in a 4-3.

Thomas Davis has done that three times, Clayborn will be fine,  he is not a speed rusher.  If we were to poll what is our deepest position on the whole defence I'm pretty sure the obvious answer would be DE so spending a high pick seems wasteful unless it's for an elite talent.  I'd much rather get some more interior pass rush, because we have nobody next to mccoy.  The secondary needs fixing and drafting pass rushers alone won't fix it...  I'd also like a good right tackle to help Freeman and Martin...

   Good point. And THAT is why I keep sayin' we need a stud DT more than a DE. A guy who commands a double team playing next to McCoy, which is what was envisioned when we drafted Price. Our DE's do penetrate, but we get so little push up the middle QB's easily escape our DE's.
As for the blitz, I'm not so sure the issue isn't the players' execution of the blitz scheme more than the scheme itself. Our guys just don't get off blocks very well at all. The timing of a blitz is often crucial to it's success too. A lot of factors involved...

As  far as us only having 25 sacks, it is bad, but we did lose our 1st round pick DE. If Clayborn hadn't gone on IR he probably has 8-10 sacks and that total is around 35....which would be just outside the top 10 in the league. If we improve the depth at DT and resign Bennett, we should be just fine next year.

Maybe a pass rushing specialist to replace Quincy Black at Sam. I thought Watson was going to be that guy, but apparently not.
