The Rays picked up right where they left off. On the heels of a 14-2 streak heading into the All-Star break, Tampa Bay swept the Blue Jays in Toronto. The Rays are 20-4 in their past 24 games and hold the top spot in the AL wild-card race. They start a pivotal four-game series Monday in Boston, with first place in the East up for grabs. -- Tommy Rancel, The Process Report

That DP Escobar started with Zobrist was freakin' sweet.

+1
+2, and the way the starters are pitching, I like the Rays chances against everyone in a 7 game series... and if Luke, Loney, Meyers and Longoria are in the line-up... well that doesn't stink... lol

They won't beat Detroit in a 7 game series .   They will trot out Scherzer and Verlander twice on short rest and then simply out-score us with that ridiculous offense.

Verlander is not the Verlander of old lately. He has been getting rocked his last few starts.  He has lost 8 games already, that is how many losses he had all of last season.

An odd end to a one-sided game leaves the Rays in first - here's hoping the run continues... and with Archer, Moore and Price coming up... things are looking pretty damned good.

This team's pitching is just stupid good. And I'm not even a Rays fan and I have a huge mancrush on Myers already.

Archer just finished off a gorgeous complete game shutout at Yankee Stadium.

Running out of superlatives for this starting pitching.  Unbelievable outing from Archer in Yankee Stadium.  'Ole Fausto is one step closer to the 'pen when/if Cobb returns.

You could always call them "sluggers" ...

They aren't blithering simpletons, so I'm not sure why that fits, slugger.
