He will come back next year I think. Look at how many points he put up this year. He isn't slowing down yet. Also I think he's a Hof player. He's been a great player ever since the lightning picked him up in 2001. Has always produced and has won a cup. In fact without him we don't win that cup. Ot game winner in game 6 of the Stanley cup finals. I think he's a HOF for sure.

When did the hockey season begin?

I went to the game last night and they still sell out these games. There was a good amount of Toronto fans there but still lots of Lightning fans. Im curious to see how they do next season with attendance. Two years in a row with a bad record and no playoffs. Plus the team is kind of starting over with all these young kids. They got some valuable experience this season though. I cant wait to see them play next year. If we get the #1 pick and get Jones this team is going to be insane. Jones and Hedman leading the D for years with all these young guns and Bishop in net. I think this team is heading for some domination. Maybe not next season but they will in the near future. Too much talent not to. On another note, how hot is Brittany Zion??

Jonathan Drouin will look good next to Stamkos for years. He's the likely pick at 3.

Jeff Vinik tells clients he will close hedge fund

Jeff Vinik told investors in a letter Friday that he plans to shut down his hedge fund and return money it manages for clients by June 30.

Vinik, a former manager of Fidelity Magellan mutual fund, said he wants to devote more time to his ownership of the Tampa Bay Lightning hockey team and to his family, according to a copy of the letter obtained by the Globe. He launched his hedge fund business in 1996.

Vinik recently moved his Vinik Asset Management to Tampa to be closer to the team. His investment performance slipped in the past year, losing 4.8 percent in the 10 months since July 1, while markets have generally risen. Over the long term, he delivered 17 percent annually, on average, to his investors.

Big move by the team. Will make some fans unhappy but they need that money to compete. VL was always hurt and even when healthy wasnt worth 10 mil a year. Good player but not worth that much. Im wondering where they use that money now.

Vinnie, thank you very much for the 15 years you put in here. You were always a hard worker, a team player, and a class act. All Lightning fans and everyone in this community will miss you very much, and we wish you the best wherever you may go.

Lets not feel sorry for the guy. He walks out with a huge annuity payment plus the ability to sign another huge contract elsewhere.

Who's whining? You sniveling message to Vinnie as if he reads this message board was worth a laugh.

LMAO - that from the guy who has post/delete post down pat to avoid cementing his 'thoughts'

It will be interesting to see who the bucs will draft - 5 outstanding prospects... and picking 3rd.
