Barkevious Mingo

Mingo is a guy who I think has become a little underrated as late. He could well be available at 13, and I think he'd be a great pick for the Bucs. He only had 4.5 sacks last year, but if you watch the tape below on him the affect he has in the games is significant.

Bet he'll be 255-260 by the combine, same weight as Moore. If you watch the tape he's really good at using his long arms to fight off blockers. He's fine at DE or 3-4 OLB IMO.

If we re-sign Bennett, we'll have Clayborne, Bowers and Bennett. Don't draft a probable back-up in round 1 when you have HUGE needs at DB, TE, RT.

I highly doubt he falls out of the top 10. He will put up impressive numbers at the combine, I feel. If he does somehow slip to #13, I think the Bucs should at least entertain the idea of taking him. Mingo would be an absolute asset in passing situations. With the injuries that are constantly suffered on the DL, I think it's smart to keep a deep group of pass rushers...and if they all stay healthy, then you have several talented DLmen at your disposal and absolutely no drop off in play on substitutions/rotations.

smith went to a team that runs a 3-4 defense so he fit perfectly. that also was a great defense before he got drafted. if we took mingo hed be coming to a terrible defense where he doesnt fit well. we dont have the luxury of taking chances like the 49ers did. if they whiffed on aldon smith its not as big of a deal. he was a rotational guy to start. we need a guy that comes in and starts day 1 and hardly leaves the field.

Smith should be considered a far superior prospect because he's bigger (263 lbs at the Combine compared to Mingo's listed weight of 240 lbs) and was a much more prolific pass rusher (18 sacks in 2 years at Mizzou).

Smith should be considered a far superior prospect because he's bigger (263 lbs at the Combine compared to Mingo's listed weight of 240 lbs) and was a much more prolific pass rusher (18 sacks in 2 years at Mizzou).

He should be considered superior just because he weighs a couple pounds more? I'm sure Mingo will be close to 260 at the combine.

It's funny because I remember a bunch of you guys who didn't like Aldon Smith going into the 2011 draft (not saying you in particular FRG. I don't really remember who, just a lot, including SR poo-pooed him due to sack production).

I'm sure there are a list of reasons, but 4.5 sacks for a top 15 pass rusher is weak. Blame the scheme, assignments, or what ever, but that's still unimpressive.

Until I see Watson start for a year at Sam, I'm not convinced we need a new Sam.

It baffles me why there is such high hopes for Dekoda-7th round/1 sack in three years/can't seem to get on the field-Watson.

I gotta believe that there is a reason he isn't a starting player for the Bucs. Low ceiling.
