And as a side note...I played a very similar prank on a friend...created a fake gf in which he "dated" for about 8 months...we had our gf's call him and everything...it was cruel, but he was such a jerk we just called it karma.

Burfict was acting like a child and playing like a seventh-round draft pick.  Te'o may've pulled the wool over everyone's eyes, but he played like a top-10 pick the entire season.  Short of having killed this nonexistent girlfriend himself, I doubt he falls out of the first round.

I disagree.  This story isn't going away anytime soon.  When you combine this with his awful showing vs. Alabama, he'll fall out of the first.

Can you imagine the shizzle he's gonna get from a NFL locker room?

It's a shame that in 2013 someone would have to go to such an extreme to cover up who they were. But a Catholic University like Notre Dame, playing big time college football, being a Mormon AND waiting to be drafted into the NFL do not mix with being gay. And that is sad. To go to such an extreme? I don't know........call the "dead" girlfriend a cyber beard.

Personally I worry for the kids safety, possibly from himself. I cannot think of another explanation and worry T'eo can't see a way out. just my opinion.

Wow, just read the deadspin article and feel like I now need to go take a shower.  I don't even really know who I am the most disgusted by, but the kid making all this stuff up is a sick mother**CENSORED**er.  Think I'm going to go out and get some fresh air.  I don't see how Te'o couldn't be in on it, given that information. 

The other thing that blows me away is how shoddy the reporting was in the national media.  So many mainstream national news sources apparently didn't do their homework, and in my opinion, they come out looking pretty stupid and unreliable in all this.  Not that I trust much of what I read, but this is a shining example of why that is the case.
