http://espn.go.com/chicago/nfl/story/_/id/8853642/rod-marinelli-leaving-chicago-bears-defensive-coordinator

New Chicago Bears coach Marc Trestman said during his introductory press conference on Thursday that defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli has decided to move on.

"I had a chance to talk to Rod, and we had a good discussion," Trestman said. "He's made up his mind, I believe, to move on. I know to move on."

Maybe we heard this was on the wind when we let a lot of our defensive staff go?

That's most likely where he will end up...

Would love him to come back to coach our DL, but yeah, he's most likely Dallas bound...

Signs are pointing toward Kiffen getting the old gang back together.

DC, please.

Actually the problem isnt that Freeman stinks. He is average. He puts up good numbers just often enough to make you think he is better than he is. Bad and great are convincing. But mediocre makes you live with the delusion for too many years. He is just good enough to waste our time and not good enough to get us where we want to go.

I would take him as DC as well. I dont think they are making any changes there. They were first against the run when they were last the year before. Technically Sheridan improved the defense. More needs to happen though. I dont think he can go another season being last vs the pass in this league and not get fired. Shiano would deserve a lot of criticism for that as well.

PFT is reporting that he is likely to go to Dallas....but they also reported a few days ago that he wasn't leaving Chicago...

Dallas makes sense.  He could also join Gus Bradley in Jacksonville, although there isn't a direct connection between the two.

why would he want to go to Dallas to be an assistant defensive coach under Kiffin when he's qualified enough to be a DC or even a head coach

unless the plan is for him to take over in Dallas in the next 2 or so years as the DC

Only thing left is for Gruden to replace Garrett.

And that is why he won't be coming to Tampa IMO.

PewterReportMC....
\\\"Java, do you understand this a perfect example of why people beg me to suspend or ban you on a daily basis? Are you actually trying to make a point? Seriously what is the reason for even commenting. In fact why do you even bother coming to the boards? What happened to the intelligent poster from years ago?  A real shame. Like the Bucs yesterday, a wasted effort.\\\"
