@NFLSTROUD
"John McNulty expected to be announced as the Bucs QB coach. DL coach Randy Melvin has been let go. Other staff moves likely." (3:04PM 01/18/2012)

@RCommingsTBO
"John McNulty is jolining the Bucs staff as their new QBs coach." (3:07PM 01/18/2013)

@RCommingsTBO
"Randy Melvin will remain with the Bucs as their D-line coach, Bucs GM Mark Dominik said today" (3:08PM 01/18/2013)

2 contradicting tweets from very significant sources...

@espn_nfcsouth
"Dominik says Mike Sullivan definitely will remain as offensive coordinator." (3:10PM 01/18/2013)

@RCommingsTBO
"don't believe the tweets thtat claimed Randy Melvin has been fired as Bucs D-line coach. He is returning, Bucs GM Mark Dominik said" (3:14PM 01/18/2013)

Guess Melvin is staying... Normally Rick Stroud gives good info...

Randy Melvin is staying as the Bucs D-Line Coach

love the McNulty hire, if you ask me he's the future OC when Sully likely leaves next year

isn't this Arizonas QB coach? I'm a litle worried because Arizonas QBs were the worst in the league last year. I know you can't make chicken soup out of chicken poop, but that track record doesn't exactly inspire confidence. I know Schianno is comfortable with him, but he was also comfortable with Melvin as well.

Well I know some people really don't like Josh Freeman but I think we can all agree he is better then Kevin Kolb, John Skelton and Ryan Lindley put together.

He was only QB coach for AZ last year. He was WR coach for the 3 years before that. He was OC/ QB at Rutgers. This pas year is really the only blemish on his résumé.

So what have we found out today:

John McNulty is the Bucs new QB Coach
Randy Melvin will STILL be with the Bucs next year as D-Line Coach
Bucs are interviewing WR & DB Coaches as we speak but the candidates interviewed are currently unknown.

i mean come on i dont think any qb coach could get anything out of that situation they had in Zona, if you cant get the ball to Larry Fitz you shouldn't be in the league

I'm curious as to the detractors of McNulty but why is this a bad hire?  And who would have been better?

Marinelli should have been hired......I feel like Schiano doesn't want anyone credible on his staff who will question his defense

Marinelli would have been excellent.

But if he is our new QB coach, we in trouble.

Melvin stays.

Marinelli would have been excellent.

I get such a chuckle out of the Marinelli fans still on his jock...

What has this cat done, post-Buccaneers - to warrant even getting ANY coaching gig, of ANY sort...? ? ?  Upon further review......

Nothing.

At least there are some with some sort of sense/aren't trolling.  Thank you.

Arizona QBs were/are god awful and aside from Kolb, who is at best a backup/serviceable QB who cannot stay healthy, the rest of the QBs on that roster don't even belong in the league as second or third stringers.

Keeping Melvin is good, IMO, and I really like the McNulty hire as the QB coach.  A fairly obvious hire and Sullivan's replacement when he ventures off to be a HC.
